1/2 Blue are Mathematicians
1/2 Blue have all been getting very 'sweaty brains' working as Mathematicians when solving Maths problems. In one of the activities, we read the book One is a Snail, Ten is a Crab to solve some tricky open-ended problems to questions such as: If I have 24 feet have many different combinations can I have? The children often work in pairs, working and collaborating with each other to find solutions to problems. Through participating in these types of activities the children are learning how to communicate, take turns and explain their thinking to each other. They are exposed to and discuss a variety of strategies to solve problems, whilst being engaged in fun activities. We hope you like our video below and our ideas about what makes a mathematician?
