Koonawarra PS is located near the shores of Lake lllawarra in the western suburbs of Wollongong. The school caters for students from preschool to Year 6.
From its inception Koonawarra PS has received additional financial and educational support from the Priority Schools Funding Program, formerly known as the Disadvantaged Schools Program.
Grounded in the local traditions of pride, loyalty and a fair go for all. Koonawarra PS recognises that productive educational experiences provide the key for young people to realise individual aspirations and life choices. High expectations of student learning and achievement of individual personal best are therefore central to the school's goals and programs.
